Clarivate Plc (NYSE:CLVT), proveedor líder mundial de inteligencia transformadora, ha presentado hoy la actualización 2025 de los Journal Citation Reports (JCR). Este es el 50 aniversario de los informes anuales líderes en la industria, que proporcionan una visión global de las revistas académicas más importantes y fiables del mundo, ofreciendo a las instituciones académicas, investigadores y editores la capacidad de evaluar la fiabilidad y el impacto de las revistas.

En los Journal Citation Reports sólo aparecen las revistas que han cumplido los rigurosos estándares de calidad para su inclusión en la Web of Science Core Collection, lo que garantiza que los usuarios puedan confiar en la información y los datos descriptivos proporcionados. Los informes anuales ofrecen un amplio abanico de datos, métricas y análisis independientes del editor para mejorar la comprensión de los usuarios sobre el rendimiento de las revistas, incluido el ampliamente reconocido Factor de Impacto de las Revistas (JIF) y el Journal Citation Indicator.

Principales aspectos destacados de la publicación de 2025:

- El JCR incluye datos de un total de 22.249 revistas de 254 categorías

- Más de 6.200 de ellas se publicaron mediante acceso abierto dorado

 
- Se reconocen y reciben un JIF revistas académicas de 111 países, entre ellas 14.591 de ciencias y 7.559 de ciencias sociales, así como 3, 368 revistas de artes y humanidades

 
- 618 revistas reciben un JIF por primera vez

- La publicación de este año excluye las citas de y hacia contenidos retractados a la hora de calcular el numerador del JIF, garantizando que las citas de artículos retractados no contribuyan al valor numérico del JIF. Sin embargo, los artículos retractados seguirán incluyéndose en el recuento de artículos (denominador del JIF), manteniendo la transparencia y la rendición de cuentas. Esta política afecta al 1% de las revistas.

Clarivate Unveils the 2025 Journal Citation Reports

Clarivate Plc (NYSE:CLVT), a leading global provider of transformative intelligence, today released the 2025 update to the Journal Citation Reports (JCR). This is the 50th anniversary of the industry-leading annual reports, which provide a comprehensive overview of the world’s leading and trusted academic journals, offering academic institutions, researchers, and publishers the ability to gauge journals’ trustworthiness and impact. 

Only journals that have met the rigorous quality standards for inclusion in the Web of Science Core Collection are featured within the Journal Citation Reports, which ensures users can confidently rely on the information and descriptive data provided. The annual reports provide a rich array of publisher–neutral data, metrics, and analysis to enhance user understanding of journal performance, including the widely recognized Journal Impact Factor (JIF) and the Journal Citation Indicator.

Key highlights for the 2025 release: 

• The JCR includes data from a total of 22,249 journals across 254 categories
• Over 6,200 of these were published via gold open access 
• Scholarly journals from 111 countries are recognized and receive a JIF, including 14,591 in the sciences and 7,559 in the social sciences, as well as 3,368 journals in the arts and humanities 
• 618 journals receive a JIF for the first time
• This year’s release excludes citations to and from retracted content when calculating the JIF numerator, ensuring that citations from retracted articles do not contribute to the numerical value of the JIF. However, retracted articles will still be included in the article count (JIF denominator), maintaining transparency and accountability. This policy affects 1% of journals.
