La American Society for Microbiology (ASM) y Taylor & Francis se complacen en anunciar hoy la adquisición por parte de Taylor & Francis de la revista Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB) de la ASM. La ASM es una de las sociedades de ciencias de la vida más antiguas y más grandes del mundo.
Las transacciones editoriales y financieras se completaron a finales de noviembre.
Molecular and Cellular Biology es una revista científica mensual, revisada por pares, creada por la ASM en 1981. El ámbito de MCB es riguroso e incluye estudios mecanísticos que aportan avances significativos en las áreas de expresión genética y organización del genoma, morfología y función celular, metabolismo molecular, tráfico celular y transducción de señales. La revista también se centra en estudios que investigan las respuestas moleculares, celulares y sistémicas del huésped a los agentes patógenos en enfermedades y afecciones crónicas.
MCB creció un 40 por ciento de 2017 a 2021, aumentando de 4,6 millones de vistas totales de texto completo a 6,4 millones de vistas de texto completo anualmente.

Molecular and Cellular Biology is a monthly, peer-reviewed, scientific journal established by ASM in 1981. MCB’s scope is rigorous, and includes mechanistic studies that provide significant advances in the areas of gene expression and genome organization, cellular morphology and function, molecular metabolism, cellular trafficking and signal transduction. The journal also focuses on studies that investigate molecular, cellular and systemic host responses to pathogenic agents in chronic diseases and conditions.

The title will be added to Taylor & Francis’ life sciences and medical portfolio, which includes more than 250 journals in Biomedical and Life Sciences and 46 journals in Cell and Molecular Biology, with journals such as Autophagy, Cell Cycle, RNA Biology, Epigenetics, Virulence, and Critical Reviews in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

ASM and Taylor & Francis are committed to making this a seamless transition for authors. Taylor & Francis will start accepting author submissions on Dec. 5, 2022, following transition from ASM on Dec. 1, 2022.
