Acuerdos Transformativos con la Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla en México, para The Royal Society y Microbiology Society.

Para The Royal Society, la BUAP es la primera institución en México y en América Latina en firmar un acuerdo de Read&Publish. Con este acuerdo, los autores correspondientes de la BUAP, tendrán la oportunidad de publicar de manera ilimitada en acceso abierto, sin cargos de APC en todas las revistas de The Royal Society, además, toda la comunidad BUAP, tendrá acceso sin restricciones al catálogo completo de revistas, incluido el archivo completo de más de 350 años de investigación.

Por su parte, el acuerdo entre MicrobiologySociety y la BUAP también ofrece a sus investigadores, la opción de publicar de manera ilimitada y gratuita sus artículos en acceso abierto, en todas las revistas de la Sociedad, así como el acceso a todo el archivo desde 1947.

Accucoms secures transformative agreements with BUAP Mexico for The Royal Society and Microbiology Society

The Hague, 27 February 2023

Both these transformative agreements between the Meritorious Autonomous University of Puebla (BUAP) in Mexico start in 2023 and were made possible by Anouk Snijders, Accucoms’ Commercial Manager for Latin America.

For The Royal Society, BUAP is the first institution in Mexico and in Latin America to sign a Read & Publish agreement. BUAP researchers will have the opportunity of unlimited OA publishing without APC charges in all journals of The Royal Society, while also having unrestricted access to the full portfolio of journals, including the complete archive of over 350 years of research.

The agreement between Microbiology Society and BUAP also offers the institution unlimited fee-free OA publishing in all journals of the Society, as well as access to the entire archive of Society content, back to 1947. BUAP is the second institution in Mexico and the fourth in Latin America to sign a Read & Publish agreement with the Microbiology Society.

“For BUAP these agreements mean giving greater national and international visibility to the researchers of this university, and they respond to the expectations of intellectual development and the possibilities of growth of our researchers,” said Ing. Paola Adriana Rodriguez Leyva, Information Resources Administration Manager at the BUAP Central Library. “BUAP has been increasing its scientific production, and growing the number of publications in journals of international prestige will provide greater recognition to the research carried out in our institution.”

Mtra. Ana Jacqueline Valerio Venegas, Process Monitoring Manager at the BUAP Central Library, comments: “Increasing the visibility of BUAP researchers and scientific production in prestigious international journals can have many benefits for the institution and its members, such as greater recognition, prestige, and visibility of BUAP researchers in the scientific community; greater impact and dissemination of the research carried out; and increased national and international funding and support for BUAP, opening up new opportunities for the institution and its researchers. These new transformative agreements can contribute significantly to the intellectual development and growth of the institution.”

Our agreement enables corresponding authors at BUAP to publish accepted research articles Open Access without charge in Microbiology Society journals. ResearchGate y la Royal Society se asocian para aumentar la accesibilidad de la investigación

La Royal Society, la academia nacional de ciencias del Reino Unido, y ResearchGate, la red profesional para investigadores, han anunciado hoy una asociación de sindicación de contenidos que supondrá la incorporación de 5.000 artículos de acceso abierto (OA) de las revistas Open Biology y Royal Society Open Science a ResearchGate.

El objetivo de la asociación es aumentar la visibilidad, la accesibilidad y el consumo de las publicaciones de acceso abierto de la Royal Society en consonancia con el propósito de la Sociedad de reconocer, promover y apoyar la excelencia en la ciencia y fomentar el desarrollo y el uso de la ciencia en beneficio de la humanidad.

La Royal Society publica revistas internacionales de alta calidad que cubren toda la gama de la ciencia. Desde la creación de la primera revista científica del mundo, Philosophical Transactions, en 1665, la Sociedad sigue innovando apoyando el acceso abierto y abogando por políticas de ciencia abierta. Como sociedad editora sin ánimo de lucro, todos los ingresos generados se destinan a apoyar y hacer progresar a la comunidad científica mundial.

ResearchGate and Royal Society partner to increase accessibility of research

The Royal Society, the UK’s national science academy, and ResearchGate, the professional network for researchers, announced today a content syndication partnership that will see the addition of 5,000 open access (OA) articles from journals Open Biology and Royal Society Open Science to ResearchGate.

The goal of the partnership is to increase the visibility, accessibility, and consumption of Royal Society gold open access publications in alignment with the Society’s purpose to recognise, promote, and support excellence in science and encourage the development and use of science for the benefit of humanity.

The Royal Society publishes international, high quality journals that cover the full range of science. Since creating the world’s first science journal Philosophical Transactions in 1665, the Society continues to innovate by supporting open access and advocating open science policies. As a non-profit society publisher, any income generated goes back into supporting and progressing the global scientific community. 

Sören Hofmayer, co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer at ResearchGate, says: “The Royal Society has been helping to change science for 350 years.
